Assistant Professor at the Department of Integrated Literacy, Didactics and Supervision Studies at the Institute of Education (IE) of the Universidade do Minho (UM), where she has worked since 1991. She served as president of the coordinating committee for internships at UM, director of the Master’s in Teaching of English and Spanish at the 3rd CEB and ES, assistant director of the department, vice president for interaction with society and president of the Pedagogical Council of the IE. She is currently coordinator of the pedagogical internships of the Masters in Teaching and coordinator of the specialty of education in foreign languages of the Doctorate in Educational Sciences. Its teaching, supervision, training and research activity focuses on education in (foreign and second) languages and teacher training, with particular interest in teacher training for linguistic and cultural diversity and for social justice.
